Effective date - The date on which insurance under a policy
will begin.
Endorsement - An amendment of an insurance policy that
alters the provisions of the contract. Also a term used for points
on your driving license.
Excess - This is the first part of each and every claim,
which you (not your insurer) must pay. There are two types of
excess:
Exclusions - Events not covered by an insurance policy.
Typical exclusions include running a taxi service (for motor insurance),
overloading your car, or allowing drivers other than those specified
in the policy to take control of the vehicle.
