Tenants INsurance
Tenants do not normally need buildings insurance as this is the
responsibility of the landlord. However, all tenants should be advised
to insure their own personal possessions, furniture and effects,
as these will not be covered by the landlord's policy. Tenants should
give the same factors consideration as if they were buying contents
insurance as a homeowner.
Tenants can also take out cover, which protects them against damage
to the landlord's contents, which they would be responsible for
either repairing or replacing under the terms of the tenancy agreement.
